How do I avoid scams

Never let anyone remote control your computer over the internet
Never pay by bitcoin, money transfer or gift card
Never follow a link in an email and provide personal information or passwords. Always type the address into you browser
A lot of online adds pop up and tell you there is something wrong with your computer. These are normally scams.

I have no internet what do I do?

Do not follow the Windows trouble shooter initially. Doing this may reset your internet connection or wifi which then may need setting up again.
Check if any other devices on the same connection have also lost internet. If all devices have lost the internet it is probably the ISP or modem.
Wait. Sometimes no internet or email is due to a temporary outage.
Turn you modem off for 30 seconds and back on again.
If all this fails you can call your ISP or a computer repair service.

Is there a Free alternative to Microsoft Office?

Open Office is a good alternative for Word and Excel ( http://www.openoffice.org ). It can open Word documents and excel spreadsheets and although it has it's own format but you can choose to save in Microsoft office format.
